This year, the Monaco International Book Fair is launching a new initiative: the Sports Book Award. Because sports embody the spirit of pushing one’s limits, emotion, and great human stories, they naturally find their place in literature. In Monaco, a land of excellence and prestigious competitions, this award celebrates the powerful connection between athletic achievement and writing. A selection of outstanding works will be reviewed by a jury composed of renowned figures from the worlds of sports and culture. Chaired by Orianne Aymard, who will be participating live from her base camp on Everest, the winner will be presented with the award by Mr. Jacques Pastor, Deputy Mayor for Sports of the City of Monaco, during a special ceremony on Sunday, September 6. A new award to honor those who bring the body—and words—to life.
